How can I receive notifications when a member joins or renews on NAMI.org?
NOTE: Email notifications were turned on: September 2, 2020
Email notifications when a member joins or renews on NAMI.org, or when a NAMI 360 batch is processed, can be sent to any NAMI Affiliate or NAMI State Organization leader.
An affiliate leader would only receive notifications when someone joins or renews with their affiliate on NAMI.org, and when a NAMI 360 batch is processed for their affiliate.
A state leader would receive notifications when someone joins or renews with any affiliate in their state on NAMI.org, and when a NAMI 360 batch is processed for any affiliate in their state.
A leader will receive the membership email notifications if: (1). their leader role has the "Email update" box checked; AND (2) there is a valid email address in the "E-mail" field on that same leader role
You can edit someone's existing leader role so they start receiving email notifications. However, in a situation where the leader is marked as "Show on Web" and they either do not want that email address showing on www.nami.org/local, or want a different email to be showing online vs. the email where they want to receive the membership notifications, you should add a new leader role specifically for them to receive the membership notifications.
For example, John Doe is the treasurer at NAMI Arlington and wants his name and email to be displayed on www.nami.org/local under NAMI Arlington's list of contacts. He has a leader role of "Treasurer" with the "Show on Web" box checked and the affiliate's main email "namiarlington@nami.org" in the "E-mail" field on the leader role. John also wants to receive the membership email notifications, but to his work email of "johndoe@nami.org". He would need a second leader role set up with the "Email update" box checked and "johndoe@nami.org" in the "E-mail" field on that leader role.
